Tom worked for Burroughs Corporation out of college and this is where he was introduced to Timberline Software. In 1982, Tom founded Tundra Data; a Timberline Solution Provider in Lakewood, Colorado. Tom led his company’s marketing, sales and support efforts in promoting Timberline’s accounting and estimating systems for construction companies and property management firms. Since its inception, Tundra Data, an Authorized Solution Provider for Timberline, has consistently been recognized as one of Timberline’s top solution providers and has won numerous awards for sales and support.
Prior to Tundra Data, Tom’s first experiences in the construction industry was being brought up in a family where his father, a homebuilder, gave him first-hand understanding residential homebuilders. Drawing from this background and his expertise in information management for residential contractors, Tom, along with his partners, created the “ProHome”, a production homebuilder management solution that integrates with Timberline’s estimating and accounting software. Due to the success of the ProHome system, Tom formed Builder MT (Builder Management Technology) for the further development and distribution of the ProHome system. BuilderMT is also involved in consulting with builders on “Best Practices” in the homebuilding business. In the role of President, Tom directs the marketing, sales and overall management of BuilderMT. ProHome was changed to “Timberline Production Management” as part of Sage Timberline Office for Residential and the BuilderMT Workflow Management Suite (WMS) in 2002. WMS has sold over 900 enterprise systems since its release to homebuilders in Canada, Australia and The United States as clients as of May 2010.
BuilderMT was sold to MiTek, a diversified global supplier of software, engineered products, services, and equipment to the residential, commercial, and industrial, construction sectors. MiTek acquired BuilderMT due to being the fastest growing and largest supplier of technology to the mid market production builders. BuilderMT has won over 30 technology awards from a variety of trade magazines for its technology advancements with their Workflow Management Suite Desktop solution and Cloud based Builder Portal.
With the recent MiTek acquisition of Sales Simplicity, the creator and marketer of leading sales automation, content management, lead management, eMarketing for new single-family homes, condo, multi-family, realtor and senior living providers, and merging Sales Simplicity into BuilderMT, Tom becomes the President of both companies.
